Enolia Pettigen McMillan, a civil rights leader and the first woman president of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), was born today in 1904.

Hilda Lucia Solis was born today in 1957. She is an American politician and a member of the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors for the 1st district who won recognition from labor unions for pushing wage and hour laws and job safety regulations.
