On January 13th, 1913, 22 women at Howard University founded Delta Sigma Theta Sorority. Two months later, they participated in the 1913 Women's Suffrage March in D.C. The Founders marched with Mary Church Terrell under the Delta Sigma Theta Sorority banner — and they were the only Black women's organization to walk in the march.
