Marsha P. Johnson, born and also known as Malcolm Michaels Jr., was born today in 1945. Known as an outspoken advocate for gay rights, Johnson was one of the prominent figures in the Stonewall uprising of 1969. But she also identified as male, ultimately putting her under a broad, non-binary umbrella.
