JULY 19: TODAY'S INSPIRING WOMEN

Seneca Falls

In 1848, three hundred people attended the first convention held to discuss women's rights in Seneca Falls, New York. During the convention, 68 women and 32 men sign the "Declaration of Sentiments," including the first formal demand made in the United States for women's right to vote: "...it is the duty of the women of this country to secure to themselves their sacred right to the elective franchise."
